Deira (In Arabic: ديرة) is an area in the city of Dubai, United Arab Emirates bordered by the Persian Gulf, Sharjah and Dubai Creek.
Historically, Deira has been the commercial center of Dubai, Port Saeed is a small port along Deira’s shore of Dubai Creek. Port Saeed holds some of the dhow cruises and small shipping boats in Dubai.
Deira has developed much since its early days with the development of both overhead and underground metro tracks, a number of shopping malls springing up (e.g., the Deira City Centre Shopping Mall, and modern buildings and towers currently under construction within the area.
This area in ‘old Dubai’ offers a marked contrast to Downtown’s shiny newness. Be prepared to haggle in the traditional souks offering spices, textiles and gold jewellery.

Early Check-in
Check in before 06:00 Am -100% of the room charges; between 06:00 – 12:00 noon 50% of the room charges; After 12:00 noon, Free of Charge, subject to availability (Off/Low peak season)
Late Check-out
Check out after 12:00 – 06:00 pm, 50% of the room charges, subject to availability after 6pm, 100% of the room rate to be charged; Subject to room availability only.
Early Check out
The guest or company is requested to give at least 48 hours notification period, otherwise 2 extra nights to be charged accordingly as per the agreed rates.
Cancellation Policy
If the booking is cancelled or modified before 24hrs prior to the arrival date you will be charged for No Show charges for one night and whole stay charges will be charged for the Non-refundable bookings.
Payment policy
Hotel have the rights to take a pre authorization of your credit card to guarantee your booking ,in case of invalid/ declined credit cards your booking will be cancelled by 18:00hrs on the date of arrival.

Extra Bed
One Adult or one child is charged AED 150 per unit per night in an extra bed. The maximum number of extra bed / cribs in a room is one only.
Child Policy
Less than 5.99 year can be accommodated free of charge with Parents within existing bed. Baby cot can be provided, subject to availability.
Between 5.99 and 10.99 years, stay free with Parents within existing bed, Meal Charges apply
Child Breakfast @AED25 per meal
Above 10.99 years will be considered as Adult regardless extra bed to be charged.
Extra bed for child is @AED100 net rate per unit per night
Meal Policy

Children above 11 years will be considered as Adult and will be charged full rate.
Meal rates are not included in the contracted rates and will be charged directly to the guest unless the guest’s name and number of children accompanying them appear on the issued voucher.
Pre-authorization Information
In the case that a guest’s room is to be paid by another party’s credit card that will not be attending the hotel. A pre-authorization form is required to be filled out by the credit card holder allowing Fortune Plaza Hotel to use the credit card for the specified charges. The hotel reservation will be able to email or fax the form to be filled out at your request.

Language
The official language of the UAE is Arabic. However, English is the most common, followed by Hindi and Farsi. In a city where UAE nationals make up approximately 17% of the population; the expatriates are in fact the majority, most of which are from the Subcontinent, the Philippines and Iran. It is therefore quite common to frequently come across people speaking Urdu, Tagalog, Hindi, Malayalam, Russian, French, Spanish and a host of other languages.
Currency
The monetary unit in Dubai and the rest of the UAE is the Dirham (AED or Dhs), which is divided into 100 fils. The dirham is pegged to the US dollar at $1=Dh 3.67. Most shopping malls, tourist destinations and hotels have ATM machines and also accept certain foreign currencies. Credit cards are accepted in shops, restaurants and hotels.
Climate
Dubai has a sub-tropical climate with temperatures as low as 10 degrees Celsius in winter and rising to above 40 degrees Celsius in summer. The hottest months are between June and September, when temperatures can soar to 45°C and more during the day. In addition, humidity levels are very high. The city enjoys blue skies and sunshine all year round.
