Here are just a few of many exhibitions coming up over the next few months.

London Life and Times: Medieval To Modern 1066-2000

Until 12th July 2017

This exhibition explores London’s past, a city with one of the richest and most diverse histories in the world.

Filled with architectural wonders, forward-thinking business districts, iconic masterpieces and legendary stories – this city has seen the rise and fall of kings, civilisations and eras, and has lived through wars and fires. The likes of William Shakespeare, Samuel Pepys, Charles Dickens, Sherlock Holmes and Jimi Hendrix have all made their mark here.

And now, the V&A is showing the world London’s story over the last thousand years through a vast collection of artifacts and art, and an exploration of the customs and culture of London from 1066.

You Say You Want a Revolution: Records & Rebels 1966-70

Until 26th February 2017

This title, inspired by the 1968 Beatles song of the same name, is perfect in encapsulating the rebellion, colour and counter-culture turbulence of the late nineteen-sixties. This major V&A exhibition uses music, fashion and political messages from the time to help recreate a world of optimism, riot and aspiration.

Visitors are given a musical lesson on the likes of Jimi Hendrix and The Who as well as a historical look in to The Paris Protests of 1968, World Fairs, and Woodstock 1969.

You’ll leave with a depth of knowledge on how these vital years changed the world forever.

Undressed: A Brief History of Underwear

Until 12th March 2017

This exhibition explores the relationship between underwear and fashion from the 18th century to the present day. How has underwear shaped our views on the female form, or our ideas of luxury and royalty? This is an interesting and unique look into a secretive world of undergarments that will take you through history and under the dress.

There are more than 200 items in this exhibition, including 18th-century ‘stays’ that working women wore as well as 200 years’ worth of bras and corsets. Each item covers notions of practicality, sexuality, morality and beauty.
