Getting around Hammersmith

Getting around Hammersmith is super easy.

Plus, thanks to a nuanced network of buses, tubes and trains – it’s super easy to get to the rest of London too!

Hammersmith is only a few stops away from the bright lights of Leicester Square, the shopping extravaganza of Oxford Circus, and even the regal surroundings of Kensington Gardens is only a hop, skip and a jump away – all of which puts LUMA Concept Hotel London and all other hotels in Hammersmith within easy reach of everything you could possibly need in London.

So, without further ado, here’s a quick guide to Hammersmith’s extensive transport links, and how best to use them during your next visit to London!

Tubes

Hammersmith has its own tube station which is connected to three lines: the Hammersmith and City line, the District Line and the Piccadilly Line. These lines will become your closest friends.

Being on the Piccadilly line means that you are within easy reach of most of London’s airports. For example, it takes under half an hour to get from all London Heathrow Terminals to Hammersmith. This means that, if you’ve flown into London, you won’t have far to travel to get to the comfort of your hotel!

If you take the District Line, you could get to South Kensington in 15 minutes (only five stops away) and Victoria Station in 20 minutes.

This means that within 20 minutes of leaving your LUMA Concept Hotel London base, you could be at the cultural heart of London, looking at Big Ben or soaking up culture at the V&A Museum.

Buses

Located adjacent to the Hammersmith tube station is a well-connected bus station, providing transport to all parts of West London.

Going to destinations such as Shepherd’s Bush, Chiswick, Fulham and Putney, this service is easy and is constantly running – with buses leaving every few minutes until midnight.
Take this opportunity to explore West London and all the unique sights and sounds it has to offer!

Hammersmith Parking

If you’ve decided to rent a car, you can park in the centre of Hammersmith near the tube station. Hammersmith Grove NCP carpark is the place to look out for.

Walking

Discovering Hammersmith and the rest of West London on foot is easy – and free!

With the Hammersmith Lyric just outside the tube station and Shepherd’s Bush Empire only a 15 minute walk away, you don’t need to travel outside the borough to uncover some of London’s greatest destinations.

To give you some spatial perspective in your mind-map of London, Kensington is less than half an hour away on foot and Hyde Park is only 45 minutes away on foot.

Hammersmith is one of London’s best-connected areas, so travel is nothing to worry about. Hopefully, this illuminating guide will help you on your travels as you explore London’s diverse and exciting cityscape.
