The best brunch spots around West London

West London boasts an overwhelming number of incredible brunch spots around the city, from chilled independent cafes, to restaurants serving brunch alongside bottomless Prosecco and a live DJ sets, there is something for absolutely everyone. Instead of letting you aimlessly wonder the city in search of sustenance, we’ve come up with our list of favourites to send you in the right direction. All within a 30-minute journey from LUMA Concept Hotel, easily accessible from Hammersmith’s great transport links, head to one of these spots to fuel up for a day of exploring or to recover from a night out on the town.

For the coffee lovers…

Brew Chiswick

Where: 142 Chiswick High Road, London, W4 1PU. A 20-minute walk or 10-minute bus from LUMA.

The Vibe: Brew Cafe offers the ultimate lazy weekend brunch with a cosy, homey vibe and a great cup of coffee. It is the perfect spot now the weather’s warming up, with plenty of space and beautiful greenery in their outdoor area, perfect for a lazy brunch in the sun, serving fresh, light and healthy dishes.

Eat & Drink: Try Brew’s delicious sweetcorn fritters with avocado, tomato jam, lime aioli and bacon, or the blueberry pancakes with caramelised banana, creme fraiche and maple syrup.

Where: 181A Earl’s Court Road, London, SW5 9RB – a 10-minute tube journey from LUMA.

The Vibe: Just off the high-street, this incredibly cool and laid-back joint offers an insane cup of artisan coffee. Partnering with Brixton’s Assembly Coffee, you won’t find a better cuppa in the area served with nutritious, simple and delicious food.

Eat & Drink: The coffee is the main attraction, found alongside a selection of fresh juices and a very simple menu including porridge, chia pudding and a variety of toast options. While simple, all the ingredients are locally sourced, meaning the quality and freshness is spot on. Order toast with either avo, lime, chilli and a fried egg, or fig, mascarpone, cinnamon and honey.

 

For the health-conscious…

Farm Girl Café

Where: 59A Portobello Road, London, W11 3DB. Just one tube journey from Hammersmith.

The Vibe: This cosy and comforting café is a little piece of Australian café culture set in the heart of Notting Hill. Farm Girl Café is committed to providing nutritious, delicious dishes packed with goodness. Simple and healthy, this is the perfect spot for wholesome food that doesn’t skimp on taste.

Eat & Drink: Expect all the healthy classics like fruit, granola, yoghurt, a variety of egg dishes, and of course, the famous avo toast. For something different (and our two favourites) try the Pumpkin Porridge made from millet, pumpkin puree & chia seeds, sprinkled with bee pollen, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, omega mix & amber maple syrup, or the Berry Pancakes – a buckwheat mix with amber maple syrup, cranberries and hibiscus, sprinkled with toasted pistachio, hazelnut & coconut yoghurt.

Where: 1 Neal’s Yard, London WC2H 9DP. Take the Piccadilly line directly from Hammersmith to Covent Garden.

The Vibe: This Covent Garden café is tucked away in the charming and quirky Neal’s Yard – a quirky corner of London that is an absolute must-visit for all visitors. 26 Grains was founded on wholesome grain based dishes and is famous for its delicious oats bowls.

Eat & Drink: While the café has expanded recently and is now serving a variety of hot and cold dishes, their original oats are still the best. We suggest ordering the ‘Banana Cacao’ made up of almond milk oats, coconut yogurt, cacao nibs, banana and date syrup.  Or choose one of their sweet bites like the buckwheat banana bread, or spelt, honey & dukkah loaf.

Where: 110 Talbot Road, London W11 1JR. 20 minutes’ journey from LUMA.

The Vibe: NAMA is a raw food haven based in Notting Hill. It is the ideal spot for vegans and those into healthy eating as the restaurant is entirely raw and vegan, serving an amazing brunch as well as delicious salads, juices and sweet treats.

Eat & Drink: If you’re in a savoury mood, try the ‘Full English’ – cashew scrambled ‘eggs’, herbed portobello sausage, aubergine bacon, preserved chestnut mushroom & balsamic tomatoes, served with artisan almond and walnut bread with raw tomato ketchup. If you’re craving something sweet try the blueberry, banana and pine nut pancakes, topped with coconut ‘mascarpone’, fresh fruit, dark berry coulis and maple syrup.

 

For the adventurous…

Fucina

Where: 26 Paddington Street, Marylebone, London W I 5QY. Half an hour tube to Marleybone.

The Vibe: Well Fucina is better known for its amazing Italian dishes, it also has an amazing weekend brunch menu. A champion of nourishing and delicious food, Fucina has a variety of Italian dishes to choose from (including to-die-for pastries).

Eat & Drink: Fucina’s brunch menu includes a selection of freshly pressed juices and smoothies, alongside a variety of hot dishes like a warm croissant with smoked salmon, scrambled eggs & grilled tomatoes, and soft baked eggs in pressed tomato sauce, basil, parmesan & grilled mushrooms on sourdough toast. Also on offer (you are in an Italian after all) is breakfast pizza, served with ham and egg – perfect for curing a hangover!

Finish off with a cup of their house coffee and a Bomboloni (a kind of Italian doughnut) with chocolate, custard cream, or fruit compote.

Where: 29 Poland Street, London, W1F 8QR. Half an hour on the tube from Hammersmith.

The Vibe: This Soho-based Mexican has started offering brunch on the weekends. Fun and welcoming, and with a solid playlist, this a very vibey spot for brunch with mates.

Eat & Drink: Offering a variety of classic Mexican dishes, the huevos rancheros (baked eggs and tortillas in ranchera sauce, served with black beans, jalapenos, queso fresco, guacamole & pickled onions) are a fail-safe. If you’d prefer something sweet, try the buttermilk masa pancakes with caramelised banana, toasted pecans and whipped cream. Best served alongside multiple frozen margaritas.

Shackfuyu

Where: 14A Old Compton Street, London W1D 4TJ. 30 minutes’ journey via the Picadilly line.

The Vibe: Serving Yōshoku food (Western-inspired Japanese dishes) Shackfuyu is amazing. Popular as a weeknight dinner hangout, this spot now also offers an incredible Sunday brunch menu.

Eat & Drink: For £35 per person, you can choose 2 small dishes and 1 big dish alongside unlimited Prosecco and pineapple sake. What more could you want?

Small dishes: edamame with sweet chilli soy; miso aubergine; korean fried wings; seabass ceviche with pickled tomatoes; buttermilk fried chicken bun with kimchee; and crispy duck leg with plum soy and cucumber pickle. In the the large plates menu, we recommend the USDA beef short rib, cooked bo ssam style.

What makes it truly worth going for though, is the kinako French toast served with soft serve ice-cream for dessert.

 

For the party animals…

Bunga Bunga

Where: 37 Battersea Bridge Road, Battersea, London SW11 3BA, Half an hour tube and bus.

The Vibe: While this spot is technically in South London, it is just across the river from Hammersmith, in Battersea. This is not just your usual brunch, but a morning-party held every Saturday, including karaoke, live entertainment and tonnes of pizza. If you’re looking to start your day off with a bang, head here to enjoy an obscene amount of pizza and Prosecco while singing along to favourite tunes.

Eat & Drink: Use your unlimited Prosecco to build your own custom-made bellinis with your ‘kit’. With unlimited amounts of pizza for 2 hours, you can choose from options like ‘An Englishman’s Breakfast’ with sausage, mushrooms, tomato, pancetta with a soft egg, or ‘The Bunga Benedict’ – Hollandaise sauce, Parma ham and rocket, with a soft egg.
